This blog will be about recipes of yesteryear- found in ads & vintage cookbooks. My Moma & I have a vast collection of soft back & hard back cookbooks and pamphlets containing recipes. There will also be those hand wrote on index, or recipe, cards in addition to clippings from various media. Regarding cookbooks- I will not completely transcribe a whole one, but will attempt to transcribe, or scan, a handful or so of recipes from each one. For a larger image, just click on pic.

Recipes For A Buffet Using Fritos
Following are a few recipes from a booklet, along with front and back covers. I don't remember if this is the whole booklet as it's been so long since I scanned it, but it seems to be because of the page numbers. For me, Fritos are all about Frito Pie!

Side and Main Dish Recipes
Even if you click on the larger image showing the Dixie Bake, the recipe is hard to read. Thus, I put the recipe below the ad. The purpose of going ahead and putting up the whole ad is so you can see what it looks like.
The following 'Souper-Duper' ads were taken from a Campbell's ad. Wouldn't fit right on scanner so I took it apart.
I separated the image from the recipe hoping the recipes would come up good. I always try and show an image so you can see what the recipe looks like.

Select Recipes from 'Bounty on the Brazos', Pt. 1
Wow! Didn't realize it had been so long since I posted anything! Well, I have scanned some interesting recipes from "Bounty on the Brazos" a Marlin cookbook from four generations of Texas Cooking. I can't find a year for it, though. It was compiled by Betsy Allen, Ann Bartlett, Weezie Burton, Sarah Norton and Mary Windsor.
Here's a few for starters.

I don't know if they were serious when they included this recipe or not. I just thought it was interesting.
More to come from this cookbook later. It's huge. 538 pages.
